Our Team
Najal Judd
Najal is a Brooklyn native who holds yoga as a sacred practice in their life. Incorporating Ashtanga influences & training from The Shala, her classes have a steady flow with longer held breaths and deep mindfulness. Movement is magic for her, and her students find they can feel "calm and grounded by her anchoring energy throughout practice."
Julia O'Donnell
Julia's depth of knowledge in this practice infuses her every class. She guides and aligns us through yoga for the modern world - and you'll find thoughtful transitions, infusion of the imagination and breath work. Her classes blend several yoga modalities from her trainings at 200 hour YTT with The Sacred Fig, 200 hour Meditation Teacher Training with Three Jewels, Katonah yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and a mentorship with Sky Ting. She believes in "yoga as a longevity practice & that yoga is for everyone."
Rachel Watson-Jih
Rachel's inner spirit and light truly shine in every one of her classes here at the studio. Her approach to yoga invites every body to feel seen, loved, and whole in the dance of breath, mindfulness, and movement. She incorporates somatics, dance, and traditional vinyasa flow into every class - making the practice fun & fulfilling at the same time.
Sabrina Wu
As an actor, Sabrina loves to tell stories throughout her sequencing. She weaves music with movement and encourages her students to step onto their mats with gratitude and a curious mind. She believes that breath is the most powerful tool we have and continuously explores its depth in practice. Showing up is enough, and choosing to stay can surprise us.
Lisa Carr
Lisa is a certified Mat Pilates instructor and proud Bedford-Stuyvesant resident. She received her comprehensive Mat Pilates certification from Gramercy Pilates NYC and brings a contemporary, holistic approach to her teaching — one grounded in the synergy of mindful breath and core integration. Lisa is passionate about creating a supportive, intentional space where students can develop a deeper, more connected awareness of their movement. She teaches Power Pilates at Bedstuy Yoga, a dynamic class designed to build strength and stamina.
Austin Adrian
Austin’s love for yoga led him to earn his 200-hour YTT in Rishikesh, India. He came back with a heartfelt mission - to share the wonderful benefits of yoga with others. Hailing from Texas, he moved to New York to follow his passions and embrace new adventures. Join his classes for engaging challenges that will leave you feeling lighter, happier, and more connected to yourself and those around you!
Dee Luo
Dee is a yoga lover who crafts engaging and inspiring classes that encourage mental, emotional, and physical curiosity. She is committed to creating a supportive and welcoming community to help students explore their practice. Outside of the studio, Dee works in the nonprofit space supporting mental health and crisis response organizations, and is frequently on the go traveling and exploring new destinations. She says she "loves to explore how emotions show up in the body and how to bring out the different elements of strength and resilience we all carry."
Chelsea Daniel
Chelsea has a gentle, caring way about her that immediately helps you let go and relax into your practice. With a background in childhood and Montesorri education, she leads with compassion and offers her students support and breath in all her classes. She also teaches at the Bakti Center here in NYC, has a deep love of dogs and animals, and dedicates her life to teaching and being in service to others.
Mella Habtemariam
Mella is a bedstuy local with a passion for the power of pilates. Her classes offer a way to form your foundations in the practice & build strength from within. She always incorporates good music, humor, and a light-hearted positivity that helps to motivate her students and make her classes really fun!
Madison Worley
Madi is committed to creating a space that feels welcoming, inviting, and supportive of exploration. She aims to guide students inward using breathwork, intentional cueing, and physical asanas as a pathway to observation, regulation, and presence. She loves teaching yoga and finds it adds so much to her life!
Earleen Gonzalez
Earleen makes yoga the best part of your day. Her gentle and intuitive flows allow you to move your body & go deeper within. She teaches pilates, vinyasa, and is invested in her community and sharing the benefits of yoga, wellness, and meditation to all. In her classes you'll find the support to build a trust and believe "that what is meant for you, will find you."
Diana Arnold
Diana believes in the power of yoga and meditation, and has held it at the center of her New York life for over two decades. She weaves ancient texts, philosophies, spirituality, and hospitality into all she does. She sees offering yoga to her community as an act of service that she says "can absolutely change the whole world and connect & support our neighborhood community."
Alexis Carpenter
Alexis's connection to yoga and dance run deep. She cares for her students and holds space for deep breaths and grounding in all her classes. Her philosophy allows the body to quiet down enough so that it can tell us what it needs & uses yoga to connect, heal, and inspire her community.
What Makes Our Teachers Special
Every Teacher Is Different
Each instructor filters yoga through their own unique life experience. You'll never have the same class twice, even with the same teacher.
They Live Here, Too
Nearly all our teachers are Bed-Stuy residents. They're invested in this neighborhood because it's their home.
They're People, Not Gurus
Our teachers are approachable, real people you can actually talk to. No wellness pedestals here.
Personal Attention Matters
We keep class sizes intimate so teachers can give you real feedback and personal attention. Students tell us our instructors "offer great feedback" and are "very attentive."
